Step 1: Preparing for the Alpha journey
Your journey begins even before you’re officially accepted. Before each Alpha provide 100% free programming fundamentals course (interactive and engaging self-paced materials combined with instructor-led sessions) to help you start strong. Whether you choose Java, JavaScript, C#, Python or QA (course offerings vary by
country), you’ll have access to guided resources and mock exams to prepare for the Alpha entrance exam.
Once you pass the entrance exam, you’re ready to begin your transformation.
Step 2: Your first weeks in the Alpha program
Your first few weeks in Alpha are designed to build strong foundations. You’ll join a tight-knit learning group of 30-35 students, forming smaller buddy groups of 4-6 people for collaboration, motivation, and support.
We use a blended (flipped) classroom model, meaning you access learning materials in advance, and live sessions focus on practical exercises and hands-on coding. This boosts practical training by 120%, ensuring you develop real-world skills from day one.
Our instructors and mentors guide you throughout, providing feedback, support, and insights from their own industry experience.
Step 3: Soft Skills training - because tech is about more than just code
Technical expertise is only part of the equation. At
Katalysta Alpha, 20% of our curriculum is dedicated to soft skills development—teamwork, communication, negotiation, and emotional intelligence.
Why? Because 92% of employers say that soft skills are as important as technical abilities, and 80% report that soft skills are critical for company success.
From giving and receiving constructive feedback to mastering job interviews, Alpha prepares you not just to land a job but to thrive in your career.
Step 4: Real-world projects
From the second half of the program, you’ll work on real-world projects, applying everything you’ve learned in a practical setting.
This hands-on approach helps you develop problem-solving skills, collaborate with your peers, and build a strong portfolio to showcase to potential employers.
Step 5: The final project - your gateway to the IT industry
As the program nears completion, you’ll work on a final team project, building a fully functioning application from scratch. This is where all your hard work comes together.
You’ll present your project to experts, receive expert feedback, and refine your skills for the job market.
By the end of the six months, you’ll have:
- 880+ hours of intensive training
- A strong portfolio of projects
- Hands-on experience with modern development tools and methodologies
- A deep understanding of teamwork and collaboration in tech
- A network of mentors and industry professionals
Step 6: Career support - we’re with you all the way
Graduating from Alpha is just the beginning. At Katalysta, our Career Services provide ongoing support to help you land your first job in tech. As our career support may differ based on your location, these are the most important elements as the team will guide you through:
